Last month I gave my friend Andrew’s son an old Cortland fly rod for him to play with while Andrew and I practiced our casting on his lawn. Evan took to casting right away. It was awesome to see. He was a natural. With some practice, he’ll be out casting all of us in no time. On Saturday Andrew took his son to a local pond that is stocked with trout once a year when the water is still cold. They fished for a few hours and caught some bluegill. Next Sunday we’re heading out there to catch some fish and with some luck Evan will land his first trout.
