This weekend Fritz and I went over to my favorite local creek so he could run around and act like the giant goofy mutt he is. It was damned cold and the snow was falling thick. I was the only person there. That alone is worth it’s weight in gold. The only tire tracks were from the truck that the park caretaker drives as he left his trailer to head into town. We spent some time just walking the banks of the creek and enjoying that weighty silence that only a heavy snow brings to the air. Those rare times are a favorite of mine for reflecting on life and all the stuff that comes with it.

This year has been full of changes. A house, a dog, a riding lawn mower. I’ve been able to do some cool things with awesome people and the adventure keeps on growing. What else can you ask for?
