Refund & Cancellation Policy

Effective Date: August 10th, 2026

Thank you for choosing Pile Cast Fly Fishing. We want our customers and fishing clients to have a clear understanding of our refund, return, and cancellation policies.

This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to purchases made through pilecast.net, including physical merchandise and guided fishing trips.

1. Merchandise Returns

Pile Cast Fly Fishing accepts returns of eligible physical merchandise within 30 days of delivery.

Eligible merchandise may include:

  • Shirts and other apparel
  • Hats
  • Stickers
  • Accessories
  • Other physical goods sold through pilecast.net

To qualify for a return, the item must:

  • Be unused, unworn, and unwashed;
  • Be in substantially the same condition in which it was received; and
  • Include original packaging or tags when applicable.

We reserve the right to refuse a refund for merchandise that has been used, worn, washed, altered, damaged after delivery, or otherwise returned in a condition that prevents resale.

Return Shipping

Unless the merchandise was damaged, defective, or shipped incorrectly by Pile Cast Fly Fishing, customers are responsible for return shipping costs.

Original shipping charges are generally non-refundable.

We recommend using a trackable shipping method when returning merchandise. Pile Cast Fly Fishing is not responsible for returned merchandise that is lost before reaching us.

2. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Merchandise

If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact Pile Cast Fly Fishing as soon as reasonably possible after receiving the order.

Please provide:

  • Your name;
  • Order number;
  • A description of the problem; and
  • Photographs of the item and packaging when appropriate.

If we determine that the merchandise was damaged, defective, or shipped incorrectly, Pile Cast Fly Fishing may provide, as appropriate:

  • A replacement;
  • An exchange; or
  • A refund to the original payment method.

Pile Cast Fly Fishing will be responsible for reasonable return shipping expenses when a return is required because of our error or a defective product.

3. Non-Returnable Merchandise

Unless required by applicable law, the following items may not be returned:

  • Personalized or custom-made merchandise;
  • Merchandise marked Final Sale;
  • Gift cards;
  • Merchandise that has been worn, washed, used, or altered; and
  • Merchandise damaged through misuse or improper care.

Sale or promotional merchandise that is not marked Final Sale remains subject to the normal return policy.

4. Exchanges

If you need a different size or another eligible item, please contact Pile Cast Fly Fishing.

Exchanges are subject to product availability.

If the requested replacement is unavailable, we may offer a refund or store credit instead.

5. Merchandise Refunds

Approved refunds will generally be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase.

Please allow reasonable processing time after we receive and inspect the returned merchandise. Additional processing time may be required by your bank or payment processor before the refund appears on your account.

Shipping charges are not refundable unless the return resulted from an error by Pile Cast Fly Fishing or unless otherwise required by applicable law.

6. Delayed or Unavailable Merchandise

We make reasonable efforts to ship orders within the time frame stated at the time of purchase.

If an order cannot be shipped within the promised time frame, we will handle the delay, cancellation, and any required refund in accordance with applicable law.

If merchandise becomes unavailable after an order has been placed, Pile Cast Fly Fishing may cancel the affected portion of the order and issue a refund.

Guided Fishing Trips

Guided fishing trips require significant advance preparation and reservation of a specific date that may prevent Pile Cast Fly Fishing from accepting another client. The following cancellation policies therefore apply to guided fishing services.

7. Reservations and Deposits

A reservation is not considered confirmed until any required deposit or payment has been received and Pile Cast Fly Fishing has confirmed the trip.

Any deposit requirements will be disclosed at the time of booking.

Unless otherwise stated when booking, deposits are applied toward the total cost of the guided trip.

8. Client Cancellations

If you need to cancel a guided fishing trip, please contact Pile Cast Fly Fishing as soon as possible.

Unless different cancellation terms were specifically disclosed when the trip was booked, the following policy applies:

14 Days or More Before the Trip

Cancellations made 14 or more calendar days before the scheduled trip may receive a refund of amounts paid or may be transferred to another available trip date.

7โ€“13 Days Before the Trip

Cancellations made 7 to 13 calendar days before the scheduled trip are not guaranteed a cash refund.

At Pile Cast Fly Fishing’s discretion, amounts paid may be transferred as a credit toward another available guided trip.

Less Than 7 Days Before the Trip

Cancellations made less than 7 calendar days before the scheduled trip are generally non-refundable.

Pile Cast Fly Fishing may, at its discretion, allow the payment to be transferred to another trip date when unusual or emergency circumstances occur.

Rescheduled trips are subject to guide availability.

9. No-Shows

Clients who fail to appear for a scheduled guided fishing trip without providing advance notice will be considered a no-show.

No-shows are not eligible for a refund or trip credit.

10. Late Arrivals

Clients are responsible for arriving at the agreed meeting location at the scheduled time.

A late arrival may result in a shortened fishing trip.

Trips shortened because of a client’s late arrival will still end at the originally scheduled time and are not eligible for a full or partial refund.

Please contact your guide immediately if you believe you will be late.

11. Weather and Water Conditions

Fishing takes place outdoors, and weather, water levels, water temperature, river conditions, and other environmental circumstances can change rapidly.

Rain, cloudy conditions, changing temperatures, or less-than-ideal fishing conditions do not automatically result in cancellation.

Safety is the primary consideration.

Pile Cast Fly Fishing reserves the right to delay, relocate, reschedule, shorten, or cancel a trip when the guide determines that conditions may be unsafe or unsuitable for the planned trip.

Conditions that may result in a guide-initiated cancellation can include, but are not limited to:

  • Severe thunderstorms or lightning;
  • Dangerous flooding or high water;
  • Unsafe river or stream conditions;
  • Severe weather;
  • Government closures or restrictions; or
  • Other conditions that the guide reasonably determines create an unacceptable safety risk.

If PileCast Cancels the Trip

If Pile Cast Fly Fishing cancels a trip before it begins because of unsafe conditions or another circumstance within this section, the client may generally choose between:

  1. Rescheduling the trip to another mutually available date; or
  2. Receiving a refund of the guided-trip fee paid to Pile Cast Fly Fishing.

Pile Cast Fly Fishing is not responsible for incidental expenses such as travel, lodging, meals, rental vehicles, airline expenses, or other costs incurred by the client.

12. Weather Forecasts

Forecasted bad weather alone does not necessarily mean that a trip is canceled.

Clients should not assume that a trip has been canceled unless they receive confirmation from Pile Cast Fly Fishing.

If a client independently decides not to attend because of a weather forecast while Pile Cast Fly Fishing determines that the trip can safely proceed, the cancellation will be treated as a client cancellation under this policy.

13. Trips Ended Early for Safety Reasons

The guide has final authority regarding safety during a guided fishing trip.

If weather, water, equipment conditions, medical concerns, client conduct, or another safety issue arises after the trip begins, the guide may modify or end the trip.

When a trip is significantly shortened because of conditions outside the client’s control, Pile Cast Fly Fishing may provide a partial refund, trip credit, or rescheduled trip depending upon the circumstances.

Refunds or credits are not guaranteed when a trip must be ended because of a client’s conduct, failure to follow safety instructions, intoxication, or other actions creating an unsafe situation.

14. Fishing Results

Pile Cast Fly Fishing will make reasonable efforts to provide a professional and enjoyable guided fishing experience.

However, fishing conditions are inherently unpredictable.

Pile Cast Fly Fishing does not guarantee that clients will catch fish, catch a particular species, catch a particular number of fish, or catch fish of a particular size.

Poor fishing results alone are not grounds for a refund.

15. Fishing Licenses and Client Responsibilities

Unless specifically included in the trip description, clients are responsible for obtaining any fishing license, stamp, permit, or other authorization legally required for the trip.

Failure to obtain a required license or permit does not entitle the client to a refund.

Clients are also responsible for following all applicable fishing regulations and reasonable instructions provided by the guide.

16. Alcohol, Drugs, and Unsafe Conduct

Pile Cast Fly Fishing reserves the right to refuse service or immediately terminate a guided trip when a client’s conduct creates a safety risk to the client, guide, other participants, or the public.

This may include intoxication, illegal drug use, threatening behavior, reckless conduct, or refusal to follow reasonable safety instructions.

Trips terminated for these reasons are not eligible for a refund.

17. Force Majeure and Circumstances Beyond Our Control

Pile Cast Fly Fishing will not be responsible for failure to provide or complete services because of circumstances reasonably beyond our control, including severe weather, natural disasters, government restrictions, emergency closures, illness or injury of the guide, equipment failure, or other unforeseen events.

When reasonably possible, Pile Cast Fly Fishing will attempt to reschedule the trip.

If Pile Cast Fly Fishing cannot provide the purchased guided service and a reasonable rescheduling option cannot be arranged, amounts paid for the affected guided service will generally be refunded.

18. Refund Method

Refunds will normally be issued to the same payment method originally used for the purchase.

The time required for a refund to appear on the client’s account may depend on the bank, credit-card company, or payment processor.

19. Policy Exceptions

Pile Cast Fly Fishing understands that emergencies and unusual circumstances occur.

We may make exceptions to this policy at our discretion. Making an exception in one situation does not require Pile Cast Fly Fishing to make the same exception in another situation.

Nothing in this policy is intended to waive or limit any consumer right that cannot legally be waived under applicable federal, state, or local law.
