Hip hop in the early 90’s. Growing up then I didn’t realize how lucky I was to be exposed to positive music. Back when dudes had fun and it wasn’t monetized. I feel bad for the kids coming up these days listening to pre-packaged corporate rap. You can still find this stuff, but you gotta look deeper than you should have to for such amazing music.
I remember when this came out. This song was so dope to skate to. Pretty sure it was in a 411 video, but I could be wrong. My memory is shot. Too many concussions

The Pharcyde – Drop. Still one of the sickest videos ever done. I got their ’92 release from Thrasher or Transworld and listened til the tape was wore out. When this came out in ’95 it just showed the talent wasn’t blown on the first record. I still listen to this album at least once a month.

And finally one of the most talented dudes in the hip hop world, Common. I Used to Love H.E.R.

f*ck yeah, 93 til…..souls of mischief. You’re spot on with how lucky we were to have this music. I feel sorry for the kids these days too, spoon-fed lil wayne and the rest of this (mostly) crap. This is STILL my go to song for first tracks on a powder morning snowboarding!
if i had any hills worth note near me, i’d probably do the same. damn i miss snowboarding. thanks for dropping by my little site. -dave
