I got an email last week from Al Basics. He let me know about his music, influences, and asked me to check his stuff out. When I got the email I was walking to the gas station to get some junk food, having an all around shitty day at work.
Got back to the office, clicked the link he sent and my day got better. From beginning to end The Sound of Sense is a dope album. I’ve listened to it multiple times now. It’s got a classic feel to it which I dig. It’s real hip hop. It’s a deep introspective journey and I liked being on it.

Al Basics’ spoken word is as good as his rap. The dude is raw skill. I watched a battle he did with another emcee. His stage presence was awesome. The production quality on his album and videos are top notch. I can’t wait to see what the future brings for him. I hope it’s big things cause we need more dudes like him making quality music.

Here’s a link to his new album. You can listen to it all. Buy it on Bandcamp or hit Kamerata Records and order the physical copy
