January 29, 20133 CommentsFlies, Fly Tyers and Fly TyingBy Dave

Took a week off the vise and when I came back, I managed to tie ONE fly. My goal was 6. I wanna say I’m a slacker, but I’m not. I got internet distracted by stupid stuff that shouldn’t hold my attention as much as it does. I’ve been tying these for a while now with those doll eyes that have a little air bubble in them. I decided to see what they’d look like with some Clear Cure Eyes on them. I finished it with Clear Cure Hydro like always. If you’re not using Hydro to finish your flies, you’re missing out. I approve and I’m sure the fish will too. Damn this fly looks ten times better.

so fresh

so clean

Yep, it’s only a matter of time though. The fishing will be good somewhere. Spawning shad, pickerel or white bass will be moving soon.

Am I in Chicago? No snow, no freezing wind? I have been totally confused.

Harding home tomorrow…back in the spring, with a 7 wt.

If you had time to stay, it’ll be 20 again in two days.
